5. TROUBLESHOOTING
Problems Probable causes Corrective actions
Engine does
not start
The switch was set to ST O P. Set the engine switch t o the ON («I») position.
The fuel tank is empty. Refuel the fuel tank with properly mixed fuel.
The primer bulb was not
pressed enough.
Press the primer bulb 4-7 times or until fuel is
visible.
Spark plug is defective. Clean the electrode or change with a new one.
The engine is fl ooded.
Remove the spark plug and wipe up the fuel,
then pull out the starter rope 5-10 times to drain
out the fuel in cylinder.
The fuel tube is broken. Contact with the local service center for repair.
Engine lack
of power or
engine does
not accelerate
Air fi lter is dirty . Clean the air fi lter.
Spark plug is dirty . Clean it.
Fuel fi lter was blocked. Replace with a new one.
Fuel mixing screw is set
incorrectly.
Contact with the local service center for help.
Unsatisfactory
cutting
performance
The cutting attachment is
poor lubrication.
Clean the guide bar and oil spray nozzle, or
contact with the local service center for help.
Blunt cutting device Sharpen or replace cutting device.
Excessive
vibration/
noise
Bolts/ nuts are loose. Tighten bolts/nuts.
The engine
will not idle
Fuel fi lter was blocked. Replace with a new one.
Idle screw is set incorrectly.
Contact with the local service center to adjust the
idle speed.
