Inspection and maintenance
7.1
General
When carrying out inspection and maintenance, always set the vehicle lift to the
highest position and switch off the mains power supply switch (position 0). Interlock
the switch with a padlock.
The mains power supply can be temporarily disconnected and the vehicle lift set to
a higher position only when prescribed settings and checks necessitate such action.
The vehicle lift must be subjected to a thorough check annually. The vehicle lift can
be competently checked by mechanics from Stertil Group through a maintenance
contract.
7.2
Maintenance schedule
7.2.1
Daily maintenance by the user
1.
Check the vehicle lift for visible damage.
2.
Check for signs of oil leakage from the hydraulic unit, the hoses or the cylinder.
7.2.2
Monthly maintenance by the user
1.
Check for sloping tracks.
Slope can be measured as follows: raise the lift 20" (500 mm) from its lowest
position. Measure at all lifting devices the height from the footplate to a fixed point
on the moving section; for a height difference exceeding 1" (25 mm), the service
department should be consulted.
2.
Check for oil leaks.
3.
Check the oil level. Use the gauge glass at the front of the tank. With the vehicle lift
in its lowest position the oil level in the tank of the hydraulic unit should be above the
line indicating the minimum level.
Caution
c
ANY DIRT OR CONTAMINATION WHICH IS FOUND IN THE HYDRAULIC
RESERVOIR SHALL BE REMOVED AT ONCE. This dirt could get into the cylinders
and DAMAGE OR DESTROY the seals, resulting in a POTENTIALLY SERIOUS
SAFETY HAZARD. Clean the hydraulic reservoir thoroughly and replace only with
approved oil. Contact your Authorized Service Representative if further assistance
is required.
