5.3

Removing the Basket from the Tank

The procedure for removing a basket from the tank is the same for all types of
baskets compatible with this sonic irrigator. Baskets should always be removed
from the tank for loading and unloading of instruments. Never place instruments
directly in the tank.

WARNING — Burn hazard

Temperatures within the equipment can reach +98 °C (+208 °F) during and
after operation.

l

Take care when opening the lid at the end of a wash cycle.

l

Allow sufficient time for items to cool before handling, cleaning, or
commencing maintenance procedures.

l

When removing the basket from a full tank of hot water, make sure that
gloves are suitably rated for thermal protection. Alternatively, wait until the
water temperature is below a safe limit for the PPE used.

On the sonic irrigator, push the lid handle
forward and then pull up to open the lid fully.

2.

Grip both basket handles and pull both handles
upwards at the same time. The basket handles
rotate about pivots and push the side latches
away to release the basket.
