Safety Considerations
IMMEDIATELY STOP WORK IF PERSONAL
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) FAILS. If any
item of the PPE fails during use,
immediately cease work activity, safely
remove the PPE, determine the cause of the
PPE failure and re-evaluate the selection
and use of the PPE for that task. Be sure to
read,
understand
and
follow
the
information in this manual and all
applicable
federal,
state
and
local
occupation safety and health statutes.
Serious injury or death may occur from
improper use of PPE. Proper use must be
consistent with NFPA 1500, Standard on
Fire Department Occupational Safety and
Health Program and NFPA 2113, Standard
on Selection, Care, Use and Maintenance of
Flame-Resistant Garments for Protection of
Industrial Personnel against Flash Fire.
Additionally, use these garments in
accordance
with
applicable
personal
protective equipment regulations, which in
the United States is 29 CFR 1910.132. For
users of these garments outside the United
States, consult national or other applicable
personal protective equipment laws and
regulations.
