Printer Setup
Products used:
(1) Star Micronics TSP143LAN Thermal Printer
(Old Printer version) (1) Star Micronics Wifi Power Pack (Not necessary for new version of
TSP143LAN with USB)
(New Printer version) (1) TP Link N300 Micro-Router
(1) Roll of 3M Double Faced Tape
Hardware Setup:
1. Open the thermal printer out of the box, and remove the small plate on the bottom with a phillips
screwdriver.
2. Turn Dip-switch 3 OFF and replace the plate.
3. Connect all cables including power cable, Ethernet, USB Adapter (Wifi Power Pack ONLY), USB
to Micro USB Cable. Leave all cables loose, do this because its much harder later then now.
4. Take the TP Link Micro-Router and remove the wrappings and take note of the SSID and
Password on the back of the router. (It will be handy later)
5. Mount the TP Link Micro-Router with the 3M Double Faced Tape to the back of the thermal printer
the tape should sit right below where the “Star Micronics” Name and Logo is and make sure the
Micro-Router has the Ethernet port facing towards the bottom of the printer
6. (WIFI POWER PACK ONLY) Mount USB adaptor in the pocket where the power cable plugs in on
the thermal printer with the 3M Double Faced Tape. It should be mounted in the middle section
near the printers Ethernet port.
7. Connect the loose Ethernet and micro USB to the Micro-router.
8. Mount the thermal printer to the wall with the supplied bracket.

Micro-Router Setup:
1. Look for a light to illuminate on the micro-router.
2. Use a computer/phone/tablet to connect to the micro-router. The SSID (wifi name) should be
what was listed on the back, as well as the password.
