GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS AND

INSTRUCTIONS
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING:

Read all instructions before operating the spotlight. Failure to follow all instructions

listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

INSTRUCTIONS PERTAINING TO RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC

SHOCK, OR INJURY TO PERSONS

WARNING – WHEN USING ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES, BASIC PRECAUTIONS SHOULD

ALWAYS BE FOLLOWED, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:

•

To reduce the risk of injury, close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used near children.

•

Use only attachments recommended or sold by the manufacturer.

WARNING – TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK:

•

For indoor or dry location and household use only.

•

When an extension cord is used:

 – The marked rating of the detachable power supply cord or extension cord should be at least as

great as the electrical rating of this appliance.

 – The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it

can be tripped over, snagged, or pulled on unintentionally (especially by children).

 – The extension cord should be kept dry and off the ground.

•

Do not store the unit outdoors.

•

Do not expose the appliance to water or any other liquid

CAUTION – TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE:

•

Do not disassemble the unit. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.

•

All lights give off heat:

 – Do not touch the light panel while operating.

 – Keep combustibles away from the light panel. Extreme heat can cause fires.

•

Never look directly into the light or shine the light into another person’s eyes.

•

Keep sharp objects away from the lens — it can crack or break.

•

Do not expose this unit to extremely high temperatures.

SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR POWER CORDS

•

Don’t abuse power cords:

 – Protect power cords from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience

receptacles, and the point where they exit from apparatus. Never carry the apparatus by

the cord or yank it to disconnect from the receptacle. Pull by plug rather than cord when

unplugging.

 – Position power cords so that they do not become entangled or become a safety hazard.

 – Do not crush, cut, pull or expose power cords to heat, oil, and sharp edges.

•

Ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protection

should be provided on the circuits or

outlets to be used. Receptacles are available having built in GFCI protection and may be used for

this measure of safety.

DANGER: Never alter AC Power Cord or plug provided.

If it will not fit the outlet, have

a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. Improper connection can result in a risk of an

electric shock.

Extension Cords

An extension cord should not be used unless absolutely necessary.

Use of an improper

extension cord could result in a risk of fire and electric shock, and will void warranty.
If an extension cord must be used, make sure your extension cord is in good condition. When using

an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current your product will draw. An

undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating.

Power Cord Safety

The device is for use on a nominal 120 volt circuit, and has a grounding plug that looks like the plug

illustrated in Figure A. A temporary adapter, which looks like the plug illustrated in Figures B and C

may be used to connect this plug to a two-pole receptacle as shown in Figure B if a properly grounded

outlet is not available. The temporary adapter should be used only until a properly grounded outlet

can be installed by a qualified electrician.

DANGER

Before using an adapter as shown in the following illustration, be certain that center

screw of outlet plate is grounded. The green-colored rigid ear or lug extending from adapter must

be connected to a properly grounded outlet– make certain it is grounded. If necessary, replace the

original outlet cover plate screw with a longer screw that will secure the adapter ear or lug to outlet

cover plate and make ground connection to a grounded outlet.

SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USB PORTS

•

IMPORTANT:

Some household USB-powered electronics will not operate with the USB ports

provided with this device. Check the manual of the corresponding electronic device to confirm that it

can be used with this type of USB port.

•
