Non-classifiable control system
Stopping procedure
Let the engine run at idling speed (no load) for at least
three minutes before turning it off. This will keep the
engine temperature in balance and prevent it from boi-
ling.
IMPORTANT!
The procedure described above is
especially important if the engine has been run
under heavy loads.
Stop
1. Turn the key to stop position “S”.
2. Hold the key in position until the engine has stop-
ped (the key will return to “0” automatically when
released and can then be removed).
NOTE!
The stop solenoid will be activated for
approximately 40 seconds after stopping the
engine, but it can be restarted at any time.
Operation
Learn how to handle the engine, controls and other
equipment in a safe and correct manner before taking
it into operation.
Checking the instruments
Check the instruments and warning display directly af-
ter start and regularly during operation.
NOTE!
For information on normal temperatures and
pressures during operation, refer to section ”Technical
Data Engine”.
Starting procedure
1. Turn on the power by putting the starter key in po-
sition “I”.
2. Press the “Alarm test” button to make sure the
warning lamps come on and the acoustic alarm
sounds.
3. Turn the key to position “III”. Release the key
immediately after the engine has started.
IMPORTANT!
If the starter motor has been
engaged for the maximum time (30
seconds), it must be allowed to cool down for
at least one minute before a new starting
attempt is made.
NOTE!
The key must first be turned to “S” before ma-
king a new starting attempt.
5. Check the instruments and run the unloaded until
it attains normal operating temperature.
