Parameterisation and Commissioning
Before commissioning, carry out the following checks:
▶
Check the enclosure for damage.
▶
Check that mounting and installation have been performed correctly. When doing so,
check whether all coverings and partitions for live components have been installed and
fastened.
▶
Make sure that all openings/drilled holes in the enclosure are sealed with permissible
components. Dust and transport protection (adhesive tape or plastic caps) fitted at the
factory must be replaced with certified components.
▶
Ensure that seals and seal systems are clean and undamaged.
▶
Remove any foreign objects.
▶
If necessary, clean the connection chamber.
▶
Check whether the electrical lines have been inserted correctly.
▶
Check whether all screws and nuts have been tightened using the stipulated tightening
torque.
▶
Check whether all snap rings are present.
▶
Check whether all cable glands and stopping plugs have been tightened as specified.
▶
Check whether all cores are clamped firmly.

Configuration
▶
Configure the device according to the "Road tanker, rail vehicle or FIBC (big bag)"
application using the DIP switch (see chapter 6.2.2).
The grounding monitoring device is set at the factory so that it works without additional
configuration in the vast majority of applications.
The device is configured using software, which is installed on a PC with a Microsoft Windows
operating system.
Interfaces
The device features two interfaces for communication between the device and PC:
• IrDA interface (continuously activated, requires the configuration kit)
• Bluetooth LE interface (can be activated via DIP switch)
The interface is selected using the configuration software.
7.1.1 Communication using Infrared
In order to connect the grounding monitoring device to a PC, the communication module for
the IrDA interface can be used. The IrDA component of the grounding monitoring device is
located in the red indicator lamp. The maximum distance for communication is 1 m.

The configuration kit for the IrDA interface is an accessory and can be ordered
separately.
