Busbar system
Series 8188
7.3.1 Electrical Connection
• Comply with the specifications provided in the "Technical Data" chapter.
• Connect the conductors with particular care.
• The connection line must comply with the relevant regulations and must have the
required cross section. The cross section must be in accordance with the information
on the bushing.
• Ensure that the wiring is short-circuit proof and earthed.
• Ensure that the wiring is earthed and short-circuit proof, or that the conductors have
double insulation, e.g. by
- using doubly insulated conductors
- using a protection hose to provide additional insulation for the conductor
- using additional bar insulation
• Ensure that the maximum permissible conductor temperatures are not exceeded by
selecting suitable conductors for use and a suitable means of running them.
• Ensure that the conductor insulation extends as far as the clamping units.
• Make sure that you do not damage (nick) the conductor when stripping it.
• Ensure that the maximum permissible conductor temperatures and the maximum
permissible surface temperature are not exceeded by selecting suitable conductors for
use and a suitable means of running them.
• Prevent mechanical damage to the conductor insulation caused by rubbing against
sharp-edged or movable metal parts.
• Regardless of the rated operational voltage, connect all uncoated and non-live metal
parts to the protective conductor system.
• Observe the clearance and creepage distances according to IEC/EN 60079

Commissioning
Before commissioning, ensure the following:
• Check the mounting and installation.
• Inspect the enclosure for damage.
• Remove any foreign objects.
• If necessary, clean the connection chamber.
• Monitor whether the busbar system is damaged.
• Monitor whether all screws and nuts have been tightened securely.
• Monitor whether the busbar holders are installed according to regulations.
• Monitor whether the end clamps are attached as a termination.
• Monitor whether the creepage distances and clearances according to IEC/EN 6007-7
have been complied with.
• Monitor whether a suitable fuse or protective device is connected upstream.
DANGER
Explosion hazard due to incorrect installation!
Non-compliance results in severe or fatal injuries.
• Check the device for proper installation before commissioning.
• Comply with national regulations.
