7. BASIC OPERATIONS
The basic operation is the actions of the Analyzer operator to implement certain search
functions designed to detect different types of eavesdropping devices.
In each basic operation, one or more of the operating modes of ST 301, accessories from the
kit, and other search devices are used. Based on these operations, methods for testing various
cables are created.
BASIC OPERATIONS:
1.
Detection of low-frequency signals in low-current cable.
2.
Detection of high-frequency signals in power mains and low-current cable.
3.
Detection of nonlinearity in the tested cable.
4.
Detection of heterogeneity in the tested cable.
5.
Localization of the detected eavesdropping devices.
7.1. BASIC OPERATION #1
DETECTION OF LOW-FREQUENCY SIGNALS IN LOW-CURRENT CABLES
The purpose of the basic operation
is the detection of signals from dynamic and electret
wire microphones.
Objects to test:
telephone cables;
LAN cables;
other low-current cables including which are not operated, disconnected from terminal
units and/or illegally laid.
The used device - LFA
For detection of low-frequency signals in low-current cables are used:
The AUTOMATED mode is used when testing multi-wire cables.
The MANUAL mode is used in the analysis of specific pair of multi-wire cable or when
testing two-wire cables.
Additional equipment - PTS
7.1.1. IMPLEMENTATION OF BASIC OPERATION #1
ANALOG TELEPHONE LINE TESTING
Initial status
The tested telephone cable consists of 4 wires. The cable is equipped with a plug of RJ11
(6P4C). Terminal unit is analog telephone. For operation of the device two central contacts of the
RJ11 connector are used. The operating voltage of the station is 12 V DC. The telephone line
functions in the normal mode, the telephone set is connected to the line.
