2. Product description
The modules clima BSK4-F and clima BSK4-F230 are used as actuators to integrate up to
4 fire dampers or smoke dampers with spring return drive into LON networks. The
difference between both types of modules is the type of power supply. The module
clima BSK4-F is supplied with 24V AC or DC, the module clima BSK4-F230 is mains-
operated (230V AC). The damper motors could be directly connected to the terminal
blocks of the modules.
Light emitting diodes for the connections of the limit position switches enable the
current damper position to be checked. The function of the connected dampers can be
checked via the control switches.
Both modules support a monitoring of 8 potential-free end-position switches. LED
indicators provide a status information about the actual status of the end-position
switches and therefore the damper position. The switch outputs can drive the damper
motors to set the damper in normal position.
The application provides for each connected damper a functional block according to
LonMark™ profile „FireSmokeDamperActuator“ (#11001_10). The current damper
position is transferred via the LON-network. A damper maintenance routine is
integrated in the application. By measuring the damper driving time which is needed to
move from one end-position to the other, mechanical failures could be easily detected.
The application provides detailed alarm messages regarding triggered fire alarms of
damper malfunction. Those messages can be signalled to a building management
system via the LON network.
