7.7 Functional Check
The SafEye system has been calibrated at the factory for the user's specific gas
or vapor detection requirements. The functional check procedure validates the
system
’s functional operation.
The functional check filter is a convenient operational check used to confirm that
a response has not changed from previous readings. The filter is not used for
calibration, since it is unnecessary in the procedure, nor does it equate to a
particular quantity of gas.
Caution:
Disable automatic activation and disconnect any external device that
should not be activated during the calibration check.
Notes:
•
This functional verification procedure is for a standard 0 – 20mA
output.
•
Prior to starting the functional check, verify that the power to the
units is on, and that the current of the 0
– 20mA channel is stable.
Record the reading.
