NETWORK TOOL KIT Quick Guide

    WARNING:

 

Tools are not insulated. Never use tools on live circuits. Wear eye protection

when using tools. Tools have moving parts that can pinch/cut. Keep fingers clear of tools. 

Note:

 

The jack will have a guide for T568A and B.  All the cables in the facility should

be wired to the same standard to prevent miswires. 

Cut

 

the cable to length.

Strip

 

off 1.5” (39mm) of the outer jacket.

to proper length

Crimp

 the connector onto the cable.

To Wire RJ45 Jacks (not included):

- Untwist and straighten the conductor wires.
- Insert conductors into the appropriate slots using the color coded wiring guide printed on the jack.  
- Minimize the untwisted length on each conductor pair - no more than 1/2" (13mm).
- Use the 110-style punchdown tool to fully seat (punch down) the wires into the slots. 

   Oriented correctly, the tool will trim off the excess wire.

RJ45 Plug

To Wire RJ45 Connectors (included):

- Untwist and straighten the conductor wires. 

- Arrange the conductors into the T568A or T568B sequence.

   IMPORTANT:  Use the same sequence on both ends when making a patch cable.

- Hold conductors and cut to ½” (13mm) as shown.

- Fully insert the conductors into the connector checking that they go into the correct pin slots.
