Features

Two-way design

Instead of conventional two-way speakers,  Sony offers a premium GTR series speaker system that

delivers smooth frequency response thanks to an integrated 2-way crossover.

Aluminum dome tweeter

The Xplod™ GTR series speakers by Sony use premium materials like aluminum dome tweeters to

deliver outstanding dispersion and beautifully clear highs.

6.75" MRC fiber woofer

Sony uses Mica Reinforced Cellular (MRC) fiber for supremely light and extraordinarily rigid woofer

cones.  MRC woofer cones produce exceptional musical transients that are clear, with little distortion

compared to traditional cone materials.

Adjustable tweeter positioning

The Xplod™ GTR series speakers by Sony solves tweeter placement issues by providing adjustable angle

positions to help create a direct path from the tweeter to your ears so you get the best high-frequency

response.

High Energy Magnets

The Xplod™ GTR series speakers use high energy magnets to cone travel and power handling.  The

midrange woofer uses powerful Ferrite magnet while the aluminum dome tweeter uses rare earth,

compact Neodymium magnets.

Integrated crossover

Xplod™ GTR series speakers by Sony uses precision crossovers to match to the capabilities of the drive

units.  The two-way crossover includes high-pass filter (HPF) and low-pass filter (LPF) to ensure smooth

sound in the mid/high frequencies.

Bi-amp design

Bi-amp speaker systems use separate power inputs for each component of the 2-way speaker system.

This lets you drive the speaker system with dedicated power for the High Pass (HP) and Low Pass (LP)

portions instead of sharing the power.

Power handling

With quality construction materials, the XS-GTR1720/1720S speakers by Sony are rated for 75 Watts

continuous and can handle peak power of 320/350 Watts.
