Connecting to a power source
Notes
• During charging, the CD player and the
rechargeable battery become hot. This poses no
danger.
• If you push the 5-way control key toward
u
during charging, charging stops and playback of
the CD starts.
• If you place the CD player on the charging stand
during play, play stops and charging starts.
• Place the CD player on the charging stand
securely. Make sure that the OPERATION lamp
on the CD player lights up. Wrong placement
interrupts charging or play.
To remove the rechargeable battery
Push

end to remove the battery.
When to replace the rechargeable
battery
If the battery life becomes shorter by about
half, replace the battery with new
rechargeable battery.
Note on the rechargeable battery
If the battery is new or has not been used for
a long time, it may not be charged
completely. In that case, charge it until the
OPERATION lamp goes off and then use the
CD player until the battery is depleted
completely (“Lobatt” appears in the display).
Repeat this procedure several times.
Note on carrying the rechargeable
battery
Use the supplied battery carrying case to
prevent unexpected heat. If the rechargeable
battery and the metallic objects are
contacted, heat or fire may occur due to a
short circuit.
Using the dry battery
You can extend power by inserting a
rechargeable battery in the CD player and
attaching the external battery case.

Insert the LR6 (size AA) alkaline
battery (not supplied) by matching

battery case and close the battery
case lid.

Attach the battery case to the CD
player securely and fasten the
screw in the direction of LOCK.
Notes
• If the switch on the external battery case is slid in
the direction of the arrow during play, play may
stop.
• When the battery is depleted, replace the battery
with new one.
• The battery in the CD player and that in the
external battery case are discharged
simultaneously.
