Using the Wireless LAN
To communicate without an access point (ad-hoc)

The IEEE 802.11a standard, using the 5 GHz band, and the IEEE 802.11n standard, using the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band, are not available on ad-hoc
networks.

Turn on the
WIRELESS
switch.

Click the
VAIO Smart Network
icon on the taskbar.

Click the switch next to your desired wireless option(s) to toggle it to
On
in the
VAIO Smart Network
window.
Make sure the
WIRELESS
indicator light turns on.

Click
Start
and
Control Panel
.

Click
View network status and tasks
under
Network and Internet
.

Click
Set up a new connection or network
.

Select an option to specify the ad-hoc network settings and click
Next
.

Follow the on-screen instructions.
