Troubleshooting floppy disks
My USB floppy disk drive cannot write to a floppy disk

The floppy disk is write-protected. Disable the write-protect feature or use a floppy disk that is not write-protected.

Check that the disk is properly inserted into the floppy disk drive.

Your disk may be corrupt. Try to insert another floppy disk.
The optional USB floppy disk drive is not recognised as drive A
To set the floppy disk drive to A, proceed as follows:

Turn the system power on.

Connect the floppy disk drive.

Select Control Panel from the Start menu.

Click Performance and Maintenance.

Click System.

Select the Hardware tab, then click Device Manager.

Select Universal Serial Bus controllers, then Y-E Data USB Floppy.

From the Action menu, click Uninstall.
9
Keep clicking OK until the Confirmation of deletion of device message appears.
10 Select Scan for hardware changes from the Action menu.
The floppy disk drive is recognised as drive A.
