Customizing Your VAIO Computer
Changing/Removing the Power-on Password
To remove the power-on password
1
Turn on the computer.

Press the F2 key when the VAIO logo appears.

Enter the current password for Enter Current Password:
The BIOS setup screen appears.

Use the

key to select Security on the Boot menu to display another screen.

Use the

key to select the password type that you want to remove and press the Enter key.

At the new password entry prompt, press the Enter key without an entry.

At the confirmation prompt, press the Enter key once again.
The password type you selected in step 5 should now be indicated as Not Installed.
To change the power-on password
Remove the current password and then follow the procedure described in Adding the Power-on Password
add a new password.
