This section contains information about how to rectify
commonly encountered problems with the UPA-
P100MD Digital Capture Unit.
Troubleshooting
Below are remedies to some common problems that
can be encountered when using the UPA-P100MD
Digital Capture Unit.
Problem
The unit does not respond to control commands
Cannot access the configuration screen or the
image screen
Cannot make changes in the configuration
screen
Cannot print
Cannot write on a CD-R
Cannot capture images
The message [No Video present] appears on
the RM-P110 display
The message [An error occurred writing a CD]
appears on the RM-P110 display
Remedy
Restart the device.
Verify that the address in your Internet browser is correct. If it is not, type
the correct address.
Close your browser and restart the UPA-P100MD.
• Verify connection with the printer.
• Verify that the printer is on.
• Verify that the printer in online. The printer must be turned on before
the UPA-P100MD.
• Verify that there is a CD-R disc in the CD-R drive.
• Verify that your are using a blank CD-R disc.
• If you use a previously written CD-R disc, check that it was written in
the UPA-P100MD [Multi session] recording mode. (CD-R discs written
in the [Single session] recording mode or on other systems cannot be
used.)
• Verify that the CD-R disc in the tray is of a supported type. Refer to
“General Specifications” for details.
The hard disk is full. Refer to “Managing Hard Disk Space” for details.
• Verify the connection with the video device.
• Verify that the video device is on.
• Verify that there is a CD-R disc in the CD-R drive.
• Verify that your are using a blank CD-R disc.
• If you use a previously written CD-R disc, check that it was written in
the UPA-P100MD [Multi session] recording mode. (CD-R discs written
in the [Single session] recording mode or on other systems cannot be
used.)
• If you use a previously written CD-R disc in [Single session] recording
mode, this message appears. Be sure to select [Multi session] in the
configuration screen.
• Verify that the CD-R disc in the tray is of a supported type. Refer to
“General Specifications” for details.
