serial number is located inside the battery compartment. Record them 
in the space provided below. Refer to these numbers in the spaces 
whenever you call upon your Sony dealer regarding this product.

Before using this cover, please read this User Guide thoroughly and 
retain it for future reference.

Getting started

Open the cover of the battery case, and insert the battery 
(supplied).

Match 

 on the battery with 

 in the battery case.

Notes

• If you do not use the cover for a long period of time, remove the 

battery to avoid damage from battery leakage and corrosion.

• Replace battery with a new battery when brightness is degraded.

 

If the battery cover comes off

The battery cover is designed to come off if opened with 
excessive force. To reattach the cover, insert the hook into the hole 
on the battery case from one side 

 to side 

.

Pull the tabs, and insert it into the holes on the Reader™.

Raise the flexible light arm and bend it towards the Reader 
while adjusting the light unit to a suitable comfortable angle.

Light unit

When you raise the flexible light arm, the light is turned on 
automatically, and when you place the flexible light arm back to 
the initial position, the light is turned off automatically.
You can set the brightness of the light to   (Standard) or   (High). 
If you need a brighter light, set the brightness control switch (

to   (High).

Notes

• If the battery is running low, the difference in brightness between

 

 (High) and   (Standard) may be indistinguishable.

• If the light does not turn on automatically when you raise the flexible 

light arm, check the remaining battery level and check that the 

battery is installed properly, or replace with a new battery.
