Operating the
AIT Library
Overview
This chapter explains how to take out, change and move the cartridges, how to
view information about the AIT library, cartridges and errors, and how to test
the hardware.
Using the Cartridges
This section explains steps to take out, change and move the cartridges.
For information about how to prepare and load the cartridges, refer to “Setting
the Cartridges” (page 25) in Chapter 2, “Installation”.
Taking Out the Cartridges
To take out a cartridge set in the AIT library or AIT drives specify the slot with
the element address.
For information about element addresses, refer to “Assigned Element
Addresses” (page 45) in Chapter 3, “Basic Usage”.
To take a cartridge out of the AIT library:

At the status display, press the [MENU] button for 0.5 second.

Press the V button five times to select “6.Eject/Insert Tape”, then press the
[ENTER] button.
“Eject/Insert” appears.

Select “1.Eject From Library”, then
press the [ENTER] button.
If the cartridge to be taken out is set
in the AIT drive, select “2.Eject
From Drive”.
