Réglage du
temporisateur
En programmant le temporisateur, vous pouvez
vous endormir au son de votre radio qui sera mise
hors tension après 60 minutes.

Appuyez sur SLEEP .
Si la radio était éteinte, elle s’allumera puis
s’éteindra automatiquement après 60 minutes.
• Pour mettre le temporisateur hors service avant
la fin du compte à rebours, appuyez sur
OPERATION .
• Si vous appuyez sur SLEEP pendant le compte à
rebours, celui-ci recommencera à partir de 60
minutes.
Pour utiliser en même
temps le temporisateur
et la minuterie réveil
Vous pourrez vous endormir au son de la radio et
être réveillé par l’alarme radio à l’heure préréglée.

Fonction de maintien
(HOLD)
Appuyez sur HOLD . “ H ” est affiché pour signaler
que toutes les fonctions des touches sont
verrouillées.
Pour annuler cette protection des touches, appuyez
à nouveau sur
HOLD , ce qui fait disparaître “ H ” .
Précautions
• Faites fonctionner la radio sur les sources
d’alimentation mentionnées dans les
“Spécifications”.
• La radio n’est pas déconnectée de la source
d’alimentation secteur tant qu’elle est branchée
sur la prise murale, même si elle a été mise hors
tension.
• La plaque signalétique indiquant la tension de
fonctionnement, la consommation et autres
informations électriques se trouve à l’arrière de
la radio.
• Evitez d’exposer l’appareil à des températures
extrêmes, aux rayons directs du soleil, à
l’humidité, au sable, à la poussière ou à des
chocs mécaniques. Ne le laissez jamais dans un
véhicule garé en plein soleil.
• Si un corps étranger pénètre à l’intérieur du
coffret, retirez les piles et faites vérifier l’appareil
par un technicien qualifié avant de l’utiliser à
nouveau.
• Dans des véhicules ou des bâtiments, la
réception radio s’avère parfois difficile ou
parasitée. Essayez d’écouter votre radio près
d’une fenêtre.
• Comme les haut-parleurs contiennent un aimant
puissant, ne pas laisser de cartes de crédit
personnelles à code magnétique ni de montres à
ressorts près de la radio afin d’éviter tout
dommage.
• Pour nettoyer le coffret, utilisez un linge doux
trempé dans une solution de détergent neutre.

Guide de dépannage
Si le problème persiste après que vous avez fait les
vérifications suivantes, adressez-vous à votre
revendeur Sony.
Les touches du panneau avant n’agissent pas du
tout.
• “ H ” est affiché. Appuyez sur la touche HOLD
de manière à faire disparaître “ H ”.
L’affichage est terne ou aucune indication n’est
visible.
• Piles faibles.
• L’appareil est utilisé dans un endroit très chaud
ou très froid ou dans un lieu très humide.
Son très faible ou interrompu, ou réception
laissant à désirer.
• Piles faibles.
• Dans un véhicule ou un immeuble, écoutez près
d’une fenêtre.
La station ne peut pas être reçue quand une
touche de préréglage de station est actionnée.
• La station n’a pas été préréglée.
• La station a été effacée de la mémoire. Elle doit
être à nouveau mémorisée.
Aucun son n’est audible et “ i “ apparaît sur
l’afficheur.
• Les piles sont épuisées.

Before operating the radio, please read these
instructions thoroughly and retain them for future

These instructions cover these models:

Features

with correct polarity and close the lid.

Replacing the Batteries
• When the batteries become weak, the sound
becomes weak and distorted and “
i
” flashes.
Replace the batteries with new ones.
When the batteries are completely exhausted,
the radio goes off and “
i
” is displayed.
• Before replacing the batteries, make sure that the
radio is turned off.
• Replace the batteries within a minute.
Otherwise, the memories for the clock and the
preset stations will be erased and “0:00” will
flash in the display.
Notes on the batteries
• Do not charge the dry batteries.
• Do not carry the dry batteries with coins or other
metallic objects. It can generate heat if the
positive and negative terminals of the batteries
are accidentally contacted by a metallic object.
• When you are not going to use the unit for a
long time, remove the batteries to avoid damage
from battery leakage and corrosion.
House Current

Connect the AC power cord (supplied) to the AC
IN jack of the unit and plug in to a wall outlet.
• The display window will be lit at all times while
the unit is used on house current.
• When the AC power cord is not used, be sure to
unplug it both from the AC IN jack and from the
wall outlet. If the AC power cord is connected to
the AC IN jack without being connected to a
wall outlet, the "
i " indication will appear even
if the batteries are not exhausted. To turn off the
"
i " indication, press OPERATION .
• If the AC power cord is connected to the AC IN
jack without being connected to a wall outlet,
the clock will be cleared and the preset stations
will be erased.
Setting the Clock
The display will flash “0:00” when the batteries are
installed or the AC power cord is plugged in for the
first time.
The clock can be adjusted whether or not the radio
is on.

While holding down CLOCK , turn TUNE/
TIME SET to set the clock to the current
time.
When you turn the control knob a little to or
, the clock digits move forward or back one
by one, and when you turn the control knob
further to

When you release CLOCK , the clock starts
operating, and “:” starts flashing.
• 24-hour system : “0:00” = midnight, “12:00” =
noon
• To display the time while the radio is on, press
CLOCK .
Changing AM
Channel Step
The channel step of this unit is factory-set to
9 kHz. Match the frequency allocation system of
the country as listed.
When needed, change the channel step before
listening to the radio.

The AM channel step will be changed.

• To improve radio reception
FM:
Extend the telescopic antenna and adjust the
length and the angle for best reception.
MW/LW: Rotate the unit horizontally for
optimum reception. A ferrite bar antenna is built
in the unit.
SW: Extend the telescopic antenna vertically.
Preset Tuning
You can preset up to 14 stations in FM (7 stations in
FM1, 7 stations in FM2), and 7 stations in SW/
MW/LW.
Presetting a Station
Example: To set FM 90 MHz in preset button 2 for
FM2.

to select FM2.

Tune in FM 90 MHz.

Press the desired preset button for more
than a few seconds (i.e., in this case,
preset button 2).
You can hear the confirmation beep and preset
number "2" appears in the display.
To preset another station, repeat these steps.
• To change the preset station, preset a new
station number. The previous station will be
cancelled.

Setting the Standby
Timer
You can set the radio to turn on at a preset time.
You can set the standby timer whether or not the
radio is turned on.

While holding down STANDBY TIME
SET , turn TUNE/TIME SET to set the time
for the radio to be turned on.
“ t ” flashes in the display.
When you release STANDBY TIME SET , the
standby time is set.

Press STANDBY ON/OFF .
“ t ” stops flashing.
The radio is turned on at the preset time and is
automatically turned off after 60 minutes.
• To turn off the radio, press OPERATION .
The radio will be turned on at the preset time
the next day.
• To cancel the standby timer, press
STANDBY
ON/OFF . “

” will disappear.
• To check the preset time, press STANDBY TIME
SET .
Setting the Sleep
Timer
By setting the sleep timer, you can fall asleep to the
radio sound. The radio automatically turns off in
60 minutes.

Press SLEEP .
If the radio was turned off, it will turn on and
then turn off automatically in 60 minutes.
• To turn off the sleep timer before the time has
elapsed, press
OPERATION
.
• When you press SLEEP during the sleep mode,
the sleep timer will start again at 60 minutes.
To Use Both Sleep Timer
and Standby Timer
You can fall asleep to the radio sound and you will
be awakened by the radio alarm at the preset time.

To Prevent Accidental
Change
–HOLD function
Press HOLD . “ H ” is displayed, indicating that all
the functions of the buttons are locked.
To release the key protection, press

Precaution
• Operate the unit on the power sources listed in
“Specifications”.
• The unit is not disconnected from the AC power
source (mains) as long as it is connected to the
wall outlet, even if the unit itself has been turned
off.
• The nameplate indicating operating voltage,
power consumption, etc. is located on the rear
exterior.
• Avoid exposure to temperature extremes, direct
sunlight, moisture, sand, dust or mechanical
shock. Never leave in a car parked in the sun.
• Should anything fall into the unit, remove the
batteries, and have the unit checked by qualified
personnel before operating it any further.
• In vehicles or buildings, radio reception may be
difficult or noisy. Try listening near a window.
• Since a strong magnet is used for the speakers,
keep personal credit cards using magnetic
coding or spring-wound watches away from the
unit to prevent possible damage from the
magnet.
• To clean the casing, use a soft cloth dampened
with a mild detergent solution.

Troubleshooting
Guide
Should any problem persist after you have made
the following checks, consult your nearest Sony
dealer.
The front panel buttons do not operate at all.
• “ H ” is displayed. Press the HOLD button so
that “ H ” disappears.
Display is dim, or no indication is displayed.
• Weak batteries.
• The unit is being used in extremely high or low
temperatures or in a place with excessive
moisture.
Very weak or interrupted sound, or unsatisfac-
tory reception.
• Weak batteries.
• In a vehicle or in a building, listen near a
window.
A station cannot be received when a preset
tuning button is pressed.
• The station has not been preset.
• The memory of the station has been erased.
Preset the station again.
Sound is not heard and “ i “ appears in the
display.
• Batteries are exhausted.

Remplacement des piles
• Lorsque les piles faiblissent, le son devient faible
et présente de la distorsion, puis “ i ” clignote.
Remplacez les piles par des neuves. Quand les
piles sont épuisées, la radio s‘éteint et le voyant
“
i
” est affiché.
• Avant de remplacer les piles, assurez-vous que
la radio est hors tension.
• Remplacez les piles en moins d’une minute;
faute de quoi le contenu de la mémoire de
l’horloge et des stations préréglées sera effacé et
l’indication “0:00” clignotera sur l’afficheur.
Remarques à propos des piles
• Ne pas recharger une pile sèche.
• Ne pas porter de pile sèche avec des pièces de
monnaie ou d’autres objets métalliques. Le
contact des bornes positive et négative avec un
objet métallique peut générer de la chaleur.
• Si vous prévoyez de ne pas utiliser la radio
pendant un certain temps, enlevez les piles pour
éviter tout dommage dû à une fuite de
l’électrolyte des piles et à la corrosion.

Raccordez le cordon d’alimentation secteur (fourni)
à la prise AC IN de l’appareil et branchez-le sur
une prise murale.
• L’afficheur restera allumé pendant le
fonctionnement de l’appareil sur courant
secteur.
• Quand le cordon d’alimentation secteur n’est
pas utilisé, n’oubliez pas de le débrancher de la
prise AC IN et de la prise murale. Si le cordon
d’alimentation secteur est raccordé à la prise AC
IN sans être raccordé à une prise murale,
l’indication “
i ” apparaîtra même si les piles ne
sont pas épuisées. Pour effacer l’indication “
i
”,
appuyez sur

.
• Si le cordon d’alimentation secteur est raccordé à
la prise AC IN sans être raccordé à la prise AC
IN sans être raccordé à une prise murale,
l’horloge sera réinitialisée et les stations
préréglées efacées.
Réglage de l’horloge
L’affichage clignote et indique “0:00” lors de la
première installation des piles ou quand le cordon
d’alimentation est branché pour la première fois.
L’horloge peut être réglée, que la radio soit allumée
ou non.

optimale.
PO/GO: Tournez l’appareil dans le sens
horizontal pour rechercher la réception
optimale. Une antenne à barre de ferrite est
incorporée.
OC: Déployez l’antenne télescopique
verticalement.
Accord préréglé
Vous pouvez prérégler jusqu’à 14 stations en FM (7
en FM1, 7 en FM2) et 7 stations en OC/PO/GO.
Préréglage d’une station
Exemple: Pour mémoriser FM 90 MHz par la
touche de préréglage 2 sur FM2.

Pour prérégler une autre station, répétez ces
étapes.
• Pour changer la station préréglée, préréglez un
nouveau numéro de station et la précédente sera
annulée.

Um Feuergefahr und die Gefahr eines elektrischen
Schlages zu vermeiden, darf das Gerät weder
Regen noch Feuchtigkeit ausgesetzt werden.
Um einen elektrischen Schlag zu vermeiden, darf
das Gehäuse nicht geöffnet werden. Überlassen Sie
Wartungsarbeiten stets nur einem Fachmann.

Wir beglückwünschen Sie zu Ihrem neuen Sony
Radio, und sind überzeugt davon, daß Sie lange
Freude an diesem zuverlässigen Gerät haben
werden.
Bevor Sie das Gerät in Betrieb nehmen, lesen Sie
diese Anleitung sorgfältig durch. Bewahren Sie sie
zum späteren Nachschlagen gut auf.
Dies Anleitung bahandelt die Modelle
ICF-M760S, ICF-M760L und ICF-M760SL.

Öffnen Sie den Deckel an der Rückseite des Radios,
legen Sie vier R20/D-Batterien (nicht mitgeliefert)
mit richtiger Polarität ein, und schließen Sie den
Deckel wieder.

Auswechseln der Batterien
• Bei erschöpften Batterien ist der Ton schwach
und verzerrt und außerdem blinkt die Anzeige
i . Wechseln Sie die Batterien dann aus. Sind
die Batterien ganz leer, schaltet sich das Radio
aus und die Anzeige
i erscheint ständig.
• Vor dem Auswechseln der Batterien schalten Sie
das Radio stets aus.
• Achten Sie darauf, daß der Batteriewechsel nicht
länger als eine Minute dauert, da sonst die
Uhrzeit und die gespeicherten Sender gelöscht
werden. In einem solchen Fall blinkt 0:00 im
Display.
Hinweise zu den Batterien
• Versuchen Sie niemals, Trockenbatterien
aufzuladen.
• Stecken Sie Batterien nicht zusammen mit
Münzen oder anderen Metallgegenständen in
eine Tasche, da es sonst durch Kurzschluß der
Batterien zu Hitzeentwicklung kommen kann.
• Wenn das Gerät längere Zeit nicht verwendet
wird, nehmen Sie die Batterien heraus, um
einem Auslaufen und Korrosionsschäden
vorzubeugen.
Netzbetrieb
(Siehe Abb.

)
Schließen Sie das Netzkabel (mitgeliefert) an die
AC IN-Buchse und an eine Wandsteckdose an.
• Bei Netzbetrieb ist das Display ständig
beleuchtet.
• Wenn das Gerät nicht am Stromnetz betrieben
wird, trennen Sie das Netzkabel sowohl von der
AC IN-Buchse als auch von der Netzsteckdose.
Wenn das Netzkabel nur an der AC IN-Buchse,
aber nicht an der Netzsteckdose angeschlossen
ist, erscheint die Anzeige
i , obwohl die
Batterie nicht leer sind. Zum aAusschalten der
Anzeige
i drücken Sie OPERATION .
• Wenn das Netzkabel nur an der AC IN-Buchse,
aber nicht an der Netzsteckdose angeschlossen
ist, werden die gespeicherten Sender und die
Uhrzeit gelöscht.
Einstellung der Uhr
Wenn zum ersten Mal Batterien in das Gerät
eingelegt oder der Netzadapter zum ersten Mal
angeschlossen wird, blinkt die Anzeige 0:00 im
Display.
Stellen Sie die Uhr dann ein; sie kann sowohl bei
eingeschaltetem als auch bei ausgeschaltetem
Radio eingestellt werden.

Drücken Sie
CLOCK
, um das Blinken im
Display abzuschalten.

Während Sie CLOCK gedrückt halten,
stellen Sie durch Drehen von TUNE/TIME
SET
die Uhrzeit ein.
Wird der Knopf nur geringfügig in Richtung
oder
gedreht, ändern sich die Ziffern
schrittweise. Durch weiteres Drehen des
Knopfes bis zur Markierung
oder ändern
sich die Ziffern in schneller Abfolge.
Beim Loslassen von
CLOCK
nimmt die Uhr den
Betrieb auf, und „:” beginnt zu blinken.
• Die Uhr arbeitet mit einem 24-Stunden-System:
0:00 = Mitternacht, 12:00 = Mittag
• Durch Drücken von
CLOCK
können Sie bei
eingeschaltetem Radio die Uhrzeit anzeigen.
Umstellen des MW-
Kanalrasters
Das Radio ist werksseitig bereits auf das
Frequenzrasters Ihres Landes (9 kHz)
voreingestellt. Soll das Radio in einem anderen
Land betrieben werden, stellen Sie das
Frequenzraster wie folgt um.

Drücken Sie OPERATION , um das Gerät
auszuschalten.

Während Sie CLOCK gedrückt halten,
drücken Sie OPERATION mindestens
fünf Sekunden lang.
Das MW-Raster wird umgeschaltet.
Durch Wiederholen von Schritt 2 kann wieder
auf das ursprüngliche Raster zurückgeschaltet
werden.
Hinweis
• Beim Ändern des MW-Rasters wird die
Senderspeicherung gelöscht.

• Zum Ausschalten des Radios drücken Sie

• Zum individuellen Hören schließen Sie einen
Ohrhörer an die @ -Buchse an.
• Für optimalen Empfang...
UKW: Ziehen Sie die Teleskopantenne heraus,
und stelle Sie Länge und Winkel so ein, daß
der Empfang optimal ist.
MW/LW: Drehen Sie das Gerät um die vertikale
Achse. In diesem Wellenbereich arbeitet die
eingebaute Ferritstabantenne.
KW:
Ziehen Sie die Teleskopantenne ganz
heraus, und stellen Sie sie senkrecht.
Sendervorwahl
Insgesamt 14 UKW-Sender (sieben aus dem FM1-
und sieben aus dem FM2-Band) und sieben KW/
MW/LW-Sender können gespeichert werden.
Speichern eines Senders
Beispiel: 90 MHz wird für FM2 auf Taste 2
gespeichert.

Schalten Sie durch Drücken von BAND
auf FM2.

Stimmen Sie auf 90 MHz ab.

Drücken Sie die gewünschte
Speichertaste einige Sekunden lang (im
Beispielsfall Taste 2).
Ein akustischer Bestätigungston ist zu hören,
und die Ziffer 2 erscheint im Display.
Zum Speichern weiterer Sender wiederholen
Sie diese Schritte.
• Zum Ändern der Speicherung speichern Sie den
gewünschten neuen Sender ab. Die alte
Speicherung wird dabei gelöscht.

Verwendung des
Einschalttimers
Das Radio kann vom Timer automatisch
eingeschaltet werden. Führen Sie hierzu den
folgenden Vorgang (wahlweise bei eingeschaltetem
oder bei ausgeschaltetem Radio) aus.

Während Sie STANDBY TIME SET
gedrückt halten, stellen Sie durch
Drücken von
TUNE/TIME SET die Radio-
Einschaltzeit ein.

Wenn Sie STANDBY TIME SET loslassen, wird
die eingestellte Einschaltzeit gespeichert.

Drücken Sie STANDBY ON/OFF .

Zur programmierten Zeit schaltet sich das Radio
nun automatisch ein und nach etwa 60 Minuten
wieder aus.
• Zum Ausschalten des Radios drücken Sie
OPERATION .
Das Radio schaltet sich dann am nächsten Tag
zur selben Zeit wieder ein.
• Zum Abschalten des Einschalttimers drücken Sie
STANDBY ON/OFF , so daß die Anzeige t
erlischt.
• Durch Drücken von STANDBY TIME SET können
Sie die programmierte Einschaltzeit Überprüfen.
Verwendung des
Einschlaftimers
Bei aktiviertem Einschlaftimer können Sie in der
Gewißheit einschlafen, daß sich das Gerät
automatisch nach 60 Minuten ausschaltet.

Drücken Sie SLEEP .
Wenn das Radio ausgeschaltet war, schaltet es
sich ein. Nach 60 Minuten schaltet es sich
automatisch wieder aus.
• Zum vorzeitigen Ausschalten drücken Sie
OPERATION .
• Wenn bei aktiviertem Einschlaftimer SLEEP
erneut gedrückt wird, bleibt das Gerät ab diesem
Zeitpunkt noch 60 Minuten eingeschaltet.
Gleichzeitige
Verwendung von
Einschalt- und
Einschlaftimer
Sie können mit Radiomusik in der Gewißheit
einschlafen, daß Sie zur programmierten Zeit
wieder vom Radio geweckt werden.

Sperren der
Bedienungselemente –
HOLD-Funktion
Durch Drücken von HOLD erscheint das Symbol
H im Display. Alle Funktionstasten sind dann
gesperrt, so daß keine versehentliche Verstellung
möglich ist.
Zum Abschalten dieser Funktion drücken Sie
HOLD erneut, so daß H wieder erlischt.

Zur besonderen
Beachtung
• Betreiben Sie das Gerät nur an der im
Abschnitt „Technische Daten” angegebenen
Stromquelle.
• Das Gerät ist auch im ausgeschalteten
Zustand nicht vollständig vom Stromnetz
getrennt, solange das Netzkabel noch
angeschlossen ist.
• Das Typenschild mit Angabe der
Betriebsspannung, der Leistungsaufnahme
usw. befindet sich an der Rückseite.
• Setzen Sie das Gerät keinen extremen
Temperaturen, keinem direkten Sonnenlicht,
keiner Feuchtigkeit, keinem Sand, keinem
Staub und keinen mechanischen Stößen aus.
Lassen Sie es auch nicht in einem in der
Sonne geparkten Auto zurück.
• Wenn ein Fremdkörper in das Gerät gelangt,
trennen Sie die Batterien ab, und lassen Sie
das Gerät von einem Fachmann überprüfen,
bevor Sie es weiterverwenden.
• In einem Auto oder einem Fahrzeug kann
der Empfang schwach und verrauscht sein.
Halten Sie das Gerät dann möglichst in die
Nähe eines Fensters.
• Die Lautsprecher arbeiten mit starken
Magneten. Kreditkarten mit
Magnetcodierung und Uhren mit Federwerk
müssen ferngehalten werden, da sie durch
die Magnete beschädigt werden können.
• Zum Reinigen des Gehäuses verwenden Sie
ein weiches, leicht mit mildem
Haushaltsreiniger angefeuchtetes Tuch.
Bei weiterführenden Fragen wenden Sie sich
bitte an den nächsten Sony Händler.
Störungsüberprüfungen
Bei einer Störung gehen Sie die folgende
Zusammenstellung durch. Wenn das Problem
nicht behoben werden kann, wenden Sie sich
an Ihren Sony Händler.
Keine Taste an der Vorderseite arbeitet.
• Die Haltefunktion ist aktiviert (im Display
ist H zu sehen). HOLD drücken, so daß H
erlischt.
Die Anzeigen im Display sind nur schwach
oder gar nicht zu sehen.
• Die Batterien sind erschöpft.
• Die Umgebungstemperaur ist sehr hoch
oder sehr niedrig oder die Feuchtigkeit ist
sehr hoch.
Schwacher oder unterbrochener Ton oder
unbefriedigender Empfang.
• Die Batterien sind schwach.
• In einem Fahrzeug oder einem Gebäude
möglichst das Gerät in die Nähe eines
Fensters halten.
Der gewünschte Sender kann nicht durch
Drücken der Stationstaste abgerufen
werden.
• Der Sender wurde nicht gespeichert.
• Die Speicherung wurde gelöscht. Den
Sender erneut speichern.
Kein Ton, die Anzeige i erscheint im
Display.
• Die Batterien sind erschöpft.
