Hold the top corners of the memory module and lift it
clear from its socket.

Place the module in an anti-static bag.

Repeat for each memory module being removed.
Memory module replacement

Position the module so that the small notch on the
bottom corner of the module is at the same end as the
socket’s ejection lever.

Align the module with its socket until it contacts the
socket evenly along the socket’s length.

Press firmly down on both corners of the module until
the bottom edge is firmly seated in the socket.

You will hear a clicking sound when the module is
fully seated. Do not use excessive force. If the module
does not click into place check that the module is of the
correct type, and is inserted the right way around.

Repeat the steps for each module to be installed.

Checks after replacement
After replacement, use the Pc-Check utility to check the
amount of RAM installed on the server (see

CMOS battery replacement
• Damage may result to the equipment if battery is
connected incorrectly. Always connect the (+) and (-)
terminals of the battery as instructed.
• Battery may explode if short-circuited. When
handling the battery take care not to short-circuit the
sides of the battery with jewellery or a similar
conductor.
Replace only with type
CR2032
3.0 Volt Lithium battery.
Remove and replace the battery within 20 seconds to avoid
loss of BIOS settings.
Battery removal

Power off the unit (see
) and remove the rear lid (see
) to access the part.

Remove the new battery from its packaging.

Locate the old battery on the Motherboard.

Remove the old battery, noting its orientation, by
pulling back the retaining clip with a finger (taking
care not to bend the clip) and withdrawing the battery
upward. Immediately replace with the new battery in
the same orientation to avoid loss of settings.
