About automatic analysis
The analysis is performed while the unit is in
standby mode. While the unit is analyzing, the
On/Standby indicator lights up orange and the
illumination panel slowly flashes.
It takes about 15 minutes for the unit to analyze a
60-minute album.
Notes
Make sure not to disconnect the power cord while the
unit is analyzing the recording contents. If you do, a
malfunction may occur.
If the HDD Jukebox contains a large number of
unanalyzed music tracks, then analysis may take a long
time.
Tip
As a result of an analysis, the same track may be assigned
to two or more channels.
To cancel an analysis

The analysis is cancelled. Tracks that were not analyzed
are automatically analyzed the next time the unit enters
standby mode.
To confirm the setting for automatic analysis
This unit is factory set to perform automatic analysis
when the unit enters standby mode.
To check this setting, enter the Options menu, select
[Setting] – [Basic], and then check the [Auto-analysis]
pull-down menu.
If you select [Off] from the [Auto-analysis] pull-down
menu, automatic analysis will not be performed when the
unit enters standby mode.
To perform an analysis manually
While the “SensMe™ Channels” function is selected, enter
the Options menu and select [Manual-analysis].
To cancel the operation, select [Cancel].
Using the DSEE function
DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) is a
Sony-developed technology that enhances sounds
in the higher registers. This technology recovers
the high-register areas within audio data that
were cut during MP3 or ATRAC compression,
producing a playback quality close to that of the
original sound.
Note
The DSEE operates with MP3, WMA, and ATRAC tracks
only.
