When you activate the server function with the
Settings menu, a maximum of 20 clients can be
connected to the unit. Any device recognized as a
client is automatically allowed access. To change
the client settings, see “To set the connection status
of a client” (page 113).
The ability to use the server function
in the various operation modes is as

Enter the Settings menu and select
[Server setting].

Confirm that [Server function] is set
to [Start].

Connect the client to the unit and
then select and play a track stored on
the unit.
When playback starts, the SERVER indicator
lights up yellowish green.
If the client cannot connect with the unit (the
SERVER indicator does not light up), check
for the following possible causes.
The server function is not set to [Start].
See “To check the server settings” (page
113).
The standby mode of the unit is not set to
quick start-up.
See “Setting the standby
mode” (page 125).
The client was not successfully registered
by the unit.
See “To register a client
manually” (page 113).
The unit is set to refuse connection with
the client.
See “To set the connection
status of a client” (page 113).
Whenever the number of connected clients
changes, a pop-up window appears in the
display for about four seconds.

If audio data cannot be played on
a client or a list of clients does not
appear
If you want to play audio data that is in a format
not supported by the client, select HOME
NETWORK function on this unit. By doing so,
however, the client becomes the only device that
can connect to the unit.
