VIDEO INPUT block
REF. VIDEO (reference video input) connectors
(BNC type) and 75-ohm termination switch
Connect a composite video signal, such as black burst.
The two connectors are in the loop-through condition.
When the loop-through output is not used, set the 75-
ohm termination switch to ON.
COMPOSITE (composite video input) connectors
(BNC type) and 75-ohm termination switch
Connect to the composite output of a VTR, etc.
Depending on the input mode setting from the host
computer, one of these connectors accepts a composite
video signal of either the NTSC or PAL system.
The two connectors are in the loop-through condition
where the signal supplied to one connector is output
as-is from the other regardless of whether the power is
on or off. When the loop-through output is not used,
set the 75-ohm termination switch to ON.
COMPONENT (component video input)
connectors (BNC type)
Connect to the component outputs of a VTR, etc.
Depending on the input mode setting from the host
computer, the connectors accept component video
signals of either the 525 or 625 system.

3
SDI INPUT (serial digital video) connectors
(BNC type)
The upper connector operates as the serial digital video
input connector. Depending on the input mode setting
from the host computer, the connector accepts serial
digital signals of one of the four systems of 525- and
625-component, NTSC- and PAL-composite.
When the power of the unit is on, the lower connector
outputs the signal obtained by waveforming the signal
supplied to the upper connector (active-through
output).
4
MONITOR OUTPUT VIDEO (SDI) connector
(BNC type)
Outputs the component serial digital video signal. No
audio signal is output from this connector.
5
SCSI connector (half-pitch 50-pin, pin type,
female)
Outputs video elementary stream for DVD authoring.
6
TIME CODE INPUT connector (XLR 3-pin,
female)
Accepts the time code signal.
7
CONTROL connectors
Connect the host computer to control this unit.
10BASE-T (RJ-45 modular jack, conforming to
Ethernet IEEE802.3): For network control.
Connect to the Ethernet connector of the host
computer.
RS-232C (D-sub 9-pin, conforming to RS-232C
standards, female): Connect to the RS-232C
connector of the host computer.
8
y
(signal ground) terminal
For signal ground. Connect when required.
9
AC IN connector
Connect an AC power source using the optional AC
power cord.
