You can check the playing time and remaining
time of the current track or that of the disc.
When a DVD/CD-TEXT disc or a disc with
MP3 audio tracks or JPEG image file is loaded,
you can also check the information recorded on
disc, such as the titles.
Information displayed when
the lid is closed
The function name is displayed (when the
DVD function is selected, the disc type is
displayed). Press DISPLAY to switch to the
time display.

function name after a few moments.
Notes
• If the lid is closed, you will need to open the lid to see
the displayed information. When the lid is open you
can see the entire display.
• If “OPEN” flashes in the front panel display (see
“About the front panel display” on page 10), be sure
to open the lid and confirm the displayed message
before proceeding.
Checking the remaining time
and titles (DVD/VIDEO CD/CD/
Super Audio CD/MP3/JPEG)
Open the lid before performing the following
operations.
Press DISPLAY on the unit during Normal
Play.
Each time you press the button, the display

Notes
• ID3 tags support only version 1.
• When an ID3 tag is recorded on the current MP3 file,
the ID3 information appears in place of the track title
(file name).
• The ID3 tag character code conforms to ASCII and
ISO9660. Joliet format discs display only in ASCII.
Characters that do not support ASCII or ISO9660 are
not displayed correctly.
• When the MP3 bit rate is VBR (Variable Bit Rate),
the MP3 elapsed playing time and remaining time
may not be displayed correctly.
