Text Entry
There are three ways to enter text in the phone:
• Use the dual function keyboard below the
screen.
• Use the virtual keyboard
located in
the status bar.
• Write directly on the screen using the
stylus.
Editing text
Select
More
to access editing functions like
copy, paste and cut text, or if applicable to
format text (size, style and alignment).
Copy and cut
To get access to copy or cut functions you
must first highlight the text. To highlight text
with the stylus, hold the stylus on the end of
the text, wait a moment, and then drag the
stylus across the text you wish to copy or cut.

When you are editing English text, select
More > Text options
to:
•
Add symbol
–
launch the symbols and
punctuation marks table.
•
Auto capitalization
–
switch Auto
capitalization on and off.
•
Predictive text
–
enable or disable
enhanced text prediction, in the status bar.
•
My words
–
view the user dictionary
where you can add, edit or delete words.
When you are editing Chinese text you can
open the Text options menu to select:
•
Add symbol
–
launch the symbols and
punctuation marks table.
•
UWD frequency
–
adjust word frequency.
Automatically track and record the user’s
frequently used words/phrases, and
displays those word/phrase suggestions
when the user inputs the text in the future.
•
Chinese charset
–
Select
Extent
to input
more characters.
•
Predictive text entry
– switch between
Chinese Predictive text, in the status bar.
•
S/T conversion
– automatically convert
Simplified Chinese to Traditional Chinese.
•
Fuzzy pinyin
–
support for Fuzzy pinyin.
For example, you can find the word “
上
”
by inputting either pinyin “sang” or
“shang”.
•
My words
–
view the user dictionary
where you can add, edit or delete words.
•
Handwriting setup
–
select this option
for handwriting setup.
