SRA EX9000 Power Supply Installation
Guide
This document provides instructions for removing and installing a
replacement power supply. The SonicWall SRA EX9000 contains two
designated ports on the back bezel for power supply modules. The dual
power supply ensures redundancy if one power supply fails.
Removing the Power Supply from the SRA
Appliance
To remove a defective power supply from the SRA appliance:
1
Verify that one of the Power LEDs on the front bezel is red. The LED
turns red if the corresponding power supply has failed or is
unplugged.
2
Unplug the power cord of the module you wish to remove. There is
no need to power down the appliance.
3
Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the two screws holding the
module in place, until the screws detach from the chassis.
4
Note the orientation of the power supply. Pull the entire power
supply module out of the appliance using the attached handle, and
set it aside.
Inserting the Power Supply into the SRA
Appliance
To insert the new power supply into the SRA Appliance:
1
Insert the power supply into the empty slot, using the same
orientation you noted when you removed the power supply.
2
Firmly push the module in and fasten the screws with a Phillips
screwdriver.
3
Plug in the supplied power cord.
4
Verify that the Power LED changes to blue, indicating that the new
power supply module has been successfully inserted and
connected.
