8 Troubleshooting
Problem : The measured body temperature is less than
32ºC
(89.

Cause : If you are in the surface measurement mode, the reading
shows the external temperature that a body generates.
Problem : Message HI is displayed.
Cause : Measurement range exceeded. Measured temperature is
higher than the upper measurement range: 42.

Cause : Measurement range exceeded. Measured temperature is

Remove factors hindering the meas-
urement.

Respect the measuring distance of

The instrument was moved from too
high / low temperature. Wait for 10 minutes before taking the
measurement.
Problem : The instrument cannot be turned on.
Solution : Check if the batteries are correctly installed and charged.
Problem : The display does not light up.
Solution : Check the batteries. Replace the batteries with new ones.
Problem : Unreadable display.
Solution : Check the batteries. If they are depleted, replace them
with new ones.
