B.3 Sonardyne Tone / Frequency Interrogations
All Sonardyne interrogation and reply channels can be selected using the set-up software. These
use shorter pulses and will more than double the number of reply pulses available from a single
battery charge. All Sonardyne transceivers can interrogate on these channels, which are
compatible with the Sonardyne family of underwater navigation and positioning systems.

The preferred Reply channels are at the upper end of the Medium Frequency band.
If a depth reply is selected, the WSM will reply on the next navigation channel up, and if channel 14
is set, the second pulse will be on channel 0.
B.4 Sonardyne Wideband Replies
The acoustic command address set in the unit will determine the carrier frequency of the coded
reply, which will be one in the range of 27.0kHz to 33.5kHz in 500Hz steps. The signals have been
selected to minimise interference with frequency/tone based navigation systems.
