INSTALLING THE SPEAKER

Note: The SoundHenge Redux Enclosure is designed to work with all Sonance
Mariner 60-series and Sonance Mariner 50-series speakers.

1. Feed the speaker wire into the Protected Access Connection Terminal

grommet on the back of the speaker and out through the front of the
recessed wiring terminal.

• The grommet forms a water-resistant seal around the speaker wire.

2. Connect the speaker wires to the speaker’s terminals:

a. Strip ¼” – ½” of insulation from each conductor and twist the strands

together or tin them with solder.

b. Press-down on the tops of the connectors to open them.

c. Insert the wires into the connector holes as shown.

d. Release the connectors.

• The binding post connectors can accept wire up to 14 gauge.

• Double-check that you connected the wires properly (amplifier ‘+’ to

speaker ‘+’; amplifier ‘–’ to speaker ‘–’) at all connections.

3. Fit the wiring terminal cover into the recess in the speaker’s front panel. The

cover should fit tightly, but can be removed and replaced if the speaker
needs to be disconnected.

4. Fit the grille onto the speaker.

5. Temporarily assemble the threaded

rod as shown, with the nut against
the wing nut.

• Use the shorter threaded rod for

Mariner 60-series speakers; use the
longer threaded rod for Mariner 50-
series speakers.

6. Screw the rod into the threaded

insert on the inside rear wall of the
Soundhenge enclosure. (The insert
location is marked with a black circle.)
The screw should be at a slight angle
towards the enclosure’s open side.

• Use a wrench or pliers to tighten the

rod into the enclosure as far as it
will go.

7. Remove the nut and wingnut from

the rod and insert the washer onto
the rod, against the enclosure.

8. Reassemble the nut and wingnut onto the rod

as shown. Tighten the nut against the washer.

9. Turn the Soundhenge upside-down and

insert the mounting bracket onto the rod.

10. While holding the bracket in place on the rod, slide the speaker into the

Soundhenge with its grille against the recess in the front of the enclosure,
so that the rod and bracket are above the speaker’s label.

11. Fit the dimples in the SoundHenge Mounting Bracket into the holes in

the speaker’s label.

12. Finger-tighten the wing nut against the Mounting Bracket so the speaker

is pressed firmly against recess in the SoundHenge enclosure.
