Before using the product for the first time, please read the instructions for use below and retain them for later reference. The original instructions were written in the
Hungarian language.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised at all times to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance.
OPERATION
1. discharging
Ni-Cd batteries are recommended to be recharged only after they are completely exhausted. Less frequent discharging is sufficient for Ni-Mh types. In order to do so, set the sliding switch
to DISCHARGE, which will initiate the discharging of all inserted cells. The discharging process can be monitored using the built-in gauge.

When the switch is in TEST position, the gauge measures the voltage of the cells inserted in the two nearest charging bays (1,5 V + 9 V). If the gauge needle indicates DEAD or CHARGE,
charging can be started. (Discharging is recommended to be continued until the gauge needle reaches the red zone, and the unit only switched to charging mode afterwards.)

3. charging
Insert the batteries into the unit. Up to four size AAA/AA/C/D batteries and two 9-volt cells can be charged concurrently.
After checking the correct polarity, plug the unit into the mains power supply. When the switch is set to CHARGE, charging starts in every charging bay and all corresponding indicators will
illuminate.
The recommended charging time for a fully exhausted cell can be determined based on the capacity and charging current: capacity x 1.4/charging current
After this has elapsed, power off the unit and remove the batteries.
New batteries reach maximum capacity after a three complete charging and discharging cycles.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Depending on the degree of contamination but at least once a month, the unit may require cleaning.
1. Power off and unplug the unit before cleaning.
2. Use a slightly moistened cloth to clean the unit’s exterior. Do not use any aggressive cleaners. Avoid getting water inside of and on the electric components of the appliance.
3. If a battery has leaked electrolyte, wear protective gloves and clean the battery compartment with a dry cloth.

BATTERY DISPOSAL
Do not dispose of used batteries with normal communal waste. The user is obliged under law to take any used or dead batteries to the local collection facility or point of
original purchase. This allows the environmentally friendly disposal of batteries.
CAUTION!
If the charging sequence gets interrupted (e.g. in case of power outage or the DISCHARGE button having been pressed), always proceed by discharging first.
Always charge batteries of the same size and type together at the same time.
Never attempt to charge regular batteries. This device has been designed for use with Nickel-Cadmium and Nickel-Metal Hydride cells.
Before commencing charging, always make sure that the batteries are intact, do not leak and their contacts are not corroded.
Always check correct polarity when inserting the batteries into the charger.

• Due to a peculiar behavior of Ni-Cd batteries (memory effect), it is always advisable to discharge this type of batteries prior to charging. Otherwise, frequent “topping off” will reduce the
performance and service life of these batteries. Ni-MH type batteries are less prone to this phenomenon.
• It is recommended to condition Ni-Cd cells subject to every-day use once a week while Ni-MH cells once a month (conditioning consists of three complete discharge/charge cycles).
• New batteries tend to attain their maximum capacity after the completion of three charge/discharge cycles.
• The same treatment is recommended for cells that have been out of use for a long time.
• Always use the battery charger indoors, in a dry environment.
• If any irregular operation is detected (e.g., burnt odor from unit), immediately switch it off and remove the power plug.
• Make sure that no foreign objects or liquid can enter the unit through the openings.
• Do not exceed the recommended charging time.

Do not attempt to disassemble of modify the unit or its accessories. In case any part is damaged, immediately power off the unit and seek the assistance of a specialist.
In the event that the power cable should become damaged, it should only be replaced by the manufacturer, its service facility or similarly qualified personnel.
Do not discard with communal waste. At the end of its life, dispose of product at a facility specializing in the collection of electronic waste. If you have any question or remark in
connection with this, contact the seller or local waste management organization. By doing so, you will protect the environment as well as the health of others and yourself.
