If you select a
“new” montage, a new montage will be generated based on what sensors are
connected during the signal check.

Intelligent connect function of the headboxes
For both, manual recording start on the SOMNO HD
TM
display or initialisations at the PC but
without headbox, only connected headbox channels are recorded. Therefore, the impedance
of the channels is measured continuously. Only channels with impedance less than < 50 k
Ω
are taken over into the recording.
Make sure ground and reference electrodes are connected. Otherwise none of the channels
will show an impedance of less than < 50 k
Ω. At the SOMNO HD
TM
display all channels with
impedance < 50 k
Ω are displayed in green, all channels with impedance > 50 kΩ are displayed
in grey. Press “OK” to take all green channels over for the recording.
For recording initialised at the PC and with headbox channels this intelligent connect function
is not used.
Signal view on the display
Before and during the measurement you can see the recorded data on the display. Tap on a
sensor icon to see the corresponding raw data.
In the signal view before a measurement, the message
“Not recording” is displayed in the
background.
Numerical display of parameters
The following parameters are shown as numerical values on the display: SpO2, heart rate
(HR), pulse transit time (PTT), blood pressure (BP).
If a sensor is not included in the montage or if the sensor is not plugged in, no values for the
parameter are displayed.
If the Blood Pressure has not been calibrated, the
“PTT” (pulse transit time) will be displayed.
Once the blood pressure has been calibrated, the Blood Pressure value (systolic and diastolic)
will be displayed.

channel selection
Recorded data is shown as raw data on the display. All connected sensors and available
channels are shown as icons on the display. The channels are assigned to the following
groups: respiratory, cardio, EXG and others. The channels in a signature group are listed
vertically on the screen (max. 4 channels at a time). Additional channels can be accessed with
a swiping movement.
The following table shows the channel groupings. If you wish to change the displayed sensor
group, tap on a corresponding sensor icon on the display. The display switches automatically
to the chosen sensor group.
