BEFORE FIRST USE
●
Carefully remove the appliance from the packaging and remove all stickers, labels
(except for the type plate) and packaging materials.
●
Remove all accessories from the packaging and from the appliance.
●
Take the water tank out of the appliance. Clean the water tank, the lid of the bean
container and the filter inserts as well as the portafilter with warm water and some
mild dish washing liquid. After that, rinse everything with clear water and dry.
●
Wipe the chassis of the espresso machine and the drip tray with the drip grid as
well as the tamper and the inside of the bean container as well as the steam / hot
water wand and the intake and return pipe clean with a soft, only slightly moist
towel and dry everything.
CAUTION: The appliance chassis, the power cord and the power plug must
never be submerged in or come into contact with water or any other liquid!
NOTE: The parts of the espresso machine and the accessories are not dish-
washer safe.
●
Fill the water tank with cold tap water until the water level is at a maximum of
1 cm beneath the edge of the water tank.
CAUTION:
Use only cold tap water,
never fill the water tank with carbonated or distilled water. The machine must not
be used with an empty water tank.

and the return pipe (
17
) are placed in the water tank.
●
Fully unwind the power cord and plug the connection plug into the socket on the
appliance back side. Connect the power plug to a suitable power outlet. Make
sure that the ON/OFF button (
1
) has not yet been pushed in, meaning it is still set
to the OFF position.

RINSING THE MACHINE
To rinse the inside of the appliance, you should flush the appliance for approx. 1 min-
ute using the brewing function and the hot water function to clean and warm all
appliance parts and to stabilise the temperature during the brewing process. You
should do this before the first use and in general every time before using the ap-
pliance. This is to make sure that the first and every cup of espresso is a true, hot
pleasure.
In both cases, proceed as follows:
●
Place a filter insert (without ground coffee) in the portafilter and press it into the
portafilter to make it lock in.
●
Insert the portafilter into the brewing group: Hold the portafilter under the brew-
ing group so that the handle first points halfway to the left.
●
Push the portafilter up against the brewing head and turn the handle to the right
until you feel some resistance and the handle points halfway to the right.
