7.8 Travelling with Lou Board
Please note that the lithium ion battery in your Lou Board has to be declared as dangerous goods for transport. The smaller
battery with a capacity of 2.2 Ah has an energy value of less than 100 wh and therefore should be accepted by most airlines
installed in the board. The bigger battery with a capacity of 2.9 Ah has an energy value of more than 100 wh and therefore
has to be removed from the board for transport. Since both batteries have an energy value of less than 160 wh, they should
both be permitted in hand luggage. Please inform yourself independently about the guidelines of the respective airline
before every trip. Those regulations should always be respected.

Why does my LOU
board beep?
When the battery's voltage drops to 32V, the LOU
will start beeping as a warning signal (the lower
the voltage, the faster the beeping). The voltage
might drop for the following reasons:
low battery, strain on the engine (extreme hill
riding or a sudden start) and / or temperatures
exceeding 55
℃
(131
℉
). Please note that a heavy
rider will cause the voltage of the battery to
decrease faster.
As a built-in safety mechanism, the board will
switch itself off if the battery reaches 24V.
