causes the EPV to move the way it should (see Fig -
ure 8.14).

With the booms raised open the emer gency lower
valve at the rear of the col umn.
The Up per Boom should be gin to lower im me di -
ately.
Op er ate lower boom and slew le vers whilst low er -
ing to check that these op er ate cor rectly dur ing an
emer gency de scent.
Remember to close the emergency bleed
down valve at the completion of this test to
ensure proper boom operation.
