PPTP client setup
The SnapGear PPTP client enables the SnapGear VPN Router to establish a VPN to a remote
network running a PPTP server. This server will most likely be a Microsoft Windows server.
To begin setting up a SnapGear PPTP VPN Client, select
PPTP VPN Client
from the
VPN
menu.
To create a new VPN connection, enter:
•
A descriptive
name
for the VPN connection, which can provide an indication of the purpose of
this connection.
•
The remote PPTP
server IP address
to which to connect,
•
A
username
and
password
you can use to login to the remote VPN, you may need to obtain this
information from the system administrator of the remote PPTP server and,
•
Optionally, the remote network’s netmask.
Click
Add
– if the remote VPN is already up and running you can check
Start Now
to establish the
connection immediately.
