Subnet Mask
– Specifies the network mask of the client.
•
Hardware Address
– Specifies the MAC address and protocol used
on the client. (Options: Ethernet, IEEE802, FDDI; Default:
Ethernet)
•
Client-Identifier
– A unique designation for the client device, either a
text string (1-15 characters) or hexadecimal value.
Setting the Optional Parameters
•
Default Router
– The IP address of the primary and alternate gateway
router. The IP address of the router should be on the same subnet as
the client.
•
DNS Server
– The IP address of the primary and alternate DNS
server. DNS servers must be configured for a DHCP client to map
host names to IP addresses.
•
Netbios Server
– IP address of the primary and alternate NetBIOS
Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS) name server used for
Microsoft DHCP clients.
•
Netbios Type
– NetBIOS node type for Microsoft DHCP clients.
(Options: Broadcast, Hybrid, Mixed, Peer to Peer; Default: Hybrid)
•
Domain Name
– The domain name of the client.
(Range: 1-32 characters)
•
Bootfile
– The default boot image for a DHCP client. This file should
placed on the Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) server specified as
the Next Server.
•
Next Server
– The IP address of the next server in the boot process,
which is typically a Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) server.
•
Lease Time
– The duration that an IP address is assigned to a DHCP
client. (Options: fixed period, Infinite; Default: 1 day)
