Setting Up the RPSB 1800/1802 Cabinet
This section describes the procedures required to transform the RPSB 1800 and 1802 cabinet
units from transport position to operating position and to install the projector and computer.
After completing the hardware assembly described in this section, turn to
Connecting Internal
Wiring,
then to
Adjusting the Projected Image
, and finally to
Completing the Installation.
Unpacking
1. Remove the cabinet from its shipping carton following the instructions provided in the
Unpacking Instructions
.
2. Unpack the contents of the shipping carton. If any items are missing, contact your dealer
or SMART Technical Support at 403.228.5940.
NOTE
The cabinet unit may require screen removal to maneuver through doorways. If you need
to remove the cabinet screen, turn to page 46.
3. Wheel the system to an appropriate location that is within reach of a power source, then
complete the setup procedures described below.
NOTE
Leave sufficient space around the entire cabinet so you can comfortably access it as
you perform the following assembly and connection procedures.
Cabinet Tools, Cables and Connectors
Before you begin setting up the cabinet and its components, take a minute to ensure you have
the following tools at hand. All tools except the Phillips No. 2 screwdriver are shipped with the
cabinet.
•
3/16" hex ball driver or 3/16" hex key for SMART Board installation (if required) and for
removing and tightening screws on the large rear mirror
•
1/8" Allen key for removing the rear access panel and lower baffle door.
•
Robertson No. 2 screwdriver
•
Phillips No. 2 screwdriver (not shipped) for adjusting the cabinet door hinges
Setting Up the Cabinet
1. Lock the casters by pressing down on the caster tab locks, ensuring that the cabinet
remains stationary during the following setup procedures.
2. Remove the cardboard wedges from between the doors on the front of the cabinet.
These wedges are inserted to reduce the shifting of the doors on their hinges during
transport.
