Adjusting the Computer
Power on your computer.
If you already have SMART Board software installed, your SMART Board interactive
whiteboard will be ready to use. Depending on the type of connection, you may have to
manually configure the COM port. See the
SMART Board User's Guide
for details. Otherwise,
install SMART Board software following the instructions below.
You may have to match your computer's resolution with that of your projector. Read your
projector's manual to find out its optimal resolution. While the projector's user manual may
indicate that resolutions other than the optimal one are permitted, do not set the resolution to
any other setting. Use the guidelines below for changing your computer's resolution to match
that of the projector, or refer to your computer operating system's guide.
IMPORTANT:
If the computer's resolution is set to anything other than the optimal resolution,
you may not be able to see the entire image on the SMART Board interactive whiteboard, or
the image may be too small to properly fill the board, even with further adjustments.
Finally, set the computer's energy-saving feature to preserve the life of your projector bulb.
We recommend that you set your monitor to shut off after 30 minutes of computer inactivity.
Your LightRaise projector mount then goes into a Wait state. After another 30 minutes, the
projector is shut off by the console's firmware, if a computer is the selected source.
IMPORTANT:
Don't use the projector's Auto Start or Power Management features. Check
your projector's user manual for details.
To install SMART Board software:
1
Insert the SMART Board software CD-ROM into your computer's CD drive. This CD-ROM
is included with the console accessory kit.
2
The CD-ROM will auto-start. Follow the on-screen instructions. If you need more
information, see the
SMART Board User's Guide
.
NOTE:
You will need to use a keyboard and/or a mouse to perform the installation, as your
SMART Board interactive whiteboard is not yet touch sensitive.
Don't forget to configure the port your SMART Board interactive whiteboard is connected to
and orient your whiteboard. See the
SMART Board User's Guide
for details.
