SMART LightRaise Installation and User's Guide
5. Installing the SMART Board Interactive
Whiteboard and Projector
While installation of the optional SMART Board interactive whiteboard is consistent, projector
installation varies with your type of projector. A projector mounting kit was shipped with your
unit. This kit contains instructions for your particular projector, including how to install the
projector mounting bracket, attach your projector, adjust the projected image and install the tilt
mechanism for your size of interactive whiteboard.
This procedure involves the following steps:
•
install the tilt mechanism and the hook and loop fasteners following the instructions
included with the projector mounting kit
•
mount the SMART Board interactive whiteboard on the installed hanger bracket
•
equip the SMART Pen Tray
•
install and connect your projector, following the instructions included with the projector
mounting kit
NOTE:
Although one person can mount the SMART Board interactive whiteboard on the wall,
it’s preferable to have another person help you.
The board hides the projector cables, which are routed around one strut, behind the board and
finally around or through the spacer bracket to reach the console. Ensure the cables hang flat.
If the cable loops are too bulky, they will push against the back of the board.
Hardware required:
•
SMART Board interactive whiteboard
•
serial cable for the SMART Board interactive whiteboard (from
inside the console)
To mount the board on the hanger bracket:
1
With the boom in the operating position, carefully lift the SMART Board interactive
whiteboard until the bracket on the back of the board slips over the hanger bracket. You'll
have to maneuver the board beneath the boom support struts.
