Before attaching handle, remove protective cap on crank shaft and
discard. Then attach handle by sliding washer over hex screw and
inserting through handle and into crank shaft. Tighten hex screw
with hex wrench provided with handle kit. Press end plug over hex
screw until firmly sealed.

The Solo Platform and Shim are designed to be used together
when you are cutting or embossing thin materials such as
single sheets of paper, cardstock or Vintaj
®
blanks; however,
when using heavy materials such cardboard, chipboard or
Grungeboard
®
, or when embossing more than one layer of
cardstock, do not use the Solo Shim.
To attach the Solo Shim to the Solo Platform, insert the tab
of the Solo Shim into the Tab clips found on the end of the
Solo Platform.
Improper use of the Solo Platform and Shim may cause
damage to the Machine. Read and follow the instructions
provided on the Solo Platform and Shim.

1. Place DecoEtch Die onto a Cutting Pad with foam side up.
Place Vintaj blank on the die. Place another Cutting Pad over
the blank to create a “sandwich.” Place “sandwich” on Solo
Platform and Shim.

Slide “sandwich,” Platform and Shim into the roller opening as
far as it will go. Note the rotation of the handle and continue to
rotate it in the same direction until the Platform and “sandwich”
have completely passed through the opening and the rollers.
Solo Shim
With the DecoEmboss Die open, insert a Vintaj blank, then close
like a book. Place Cutting Pad above and below the closed Folder
to create a “sandwich.”

The DecoPress Machine is compatible with most Sizzix
die-cutting products; however, Sizzix dies should not be
used to cut or shape metal unless they are Vintaj dies
specifically designed for that purpose.
DecoEmboss and DecoEtch dies are designed for use
with Vintaj blanks. Other manufacturers’ metal blanks
may cause damage or premature wear to both the dies
and the machine.
To extend the life of your Vintaj brand dies, avoid repeatedly
placing the blanks in the same location on the die. Regularly
moving the blank to different locations on the die will ensure even
wear and minimize die distortion.
