Measuring the output voltages from the Power Supply Unit

The purpose of the Power Supply Unit is to provide the SC90 Transceiver Unit with the
necessary DC power for operation. The operation of the Power Supply Unit can be
verified by means of a standard multimeter. The output voltages are measured with
normal load.

Prerequisites

The SC90 is installed as specified in this manual.

• The SC90 is turned on, and it is working normally.

• The SC90 is in

Normal

mode, but

TX Power

is set to

Off

to prevent transmission.

• The transducer is retracted to its upper position.

• The vessel is berthed or at sea.

The following specific instrument is required for this task:

• Multimeter

Caution

You must never set the SC90 to "ping" unless the transducer is submerged in water.
The transducer may be damaged if it transmits in open air.

measured at these

Procedure

Make sure that
the SC90 is turned
on, and operates
normally.

Open the Power Supply Unit.

WARNING

The Power Supply Unit contains high voltages. Before you test or maintain
the unit, make sure that all necessary safety precautions and relevant
instructions are complied to.

Measure the voltages with normal load.
