Setting to work summary
Once all the hardware units have been installed, and all the cables have been connected,
the SC90 can be turned on for the first time, and set to work.
Prerequisites
Before you can set the SC90 to work, the following work must be finalized.
• All SC90 hardware units have been installed according to the relevant instructions.
• All system cables have been installed.
• All connections have been made.
• All operating power is available.
• All peripheral devices that shall communicate with the SC90 are available and
operational.
• All relevant personnel and tools are available.
Context
Some of these tasks may be done while the vessel is in dry dock. However, we assume
that the vessel is set afloat before you start with the "setting to work" procedures.
Note
You must never start SC90 transmissions ("pinging") when the ship is in dry dock. The
transducer may be damaged if it transmits in open air. It is therefore very important
that the SC90 system remains switched off when the vessel is in dry dock, and that no
one tries to use it.
Procedure

Do a thorough visual inspection to verify that the SC90 is ready for operational use.
