Route format
A route can be saved in the most common
.txt
format.
When a route is saved as a text file, the following standard format is used:
•
Name of the route
•
Name of the waypoint:
- Latitude
- Longitude
- Planned speed for the leg
- Type of the leg (1 Rhumb line, 2 Great circles)
Importing route formats
ECDIS900 can import routes with different route formats:
•
XML format (with route file extensions .rtz)
•
ECDIS900 format (with route file extensions .rtx)
The can also import other route formats from the previous ECDIS900 version (with route file
extensions .rtu) and other manufacturers' routes like Sperry, MaxSea, Transas, and others.
Ú
Note:
Routes are stored in ECDIS using WGS84 datum. When a route is imported, it is
important to select the datum that has been used for the route creation so that the
ECDIS is able to calculate the exact coordinates of the waypoints. If the datum is not
correctly selected, the waypoints are shifted.
