•
Weak
The information from the last four sensor transmissions are averaged.
•
Medium
The information from the last eight sensor transmissions are averaged. This has
proven to be a useful setting for trawlers.
•
Strong
The information from the last 16 sensor transmissions are averaged.
Interference Filter and Level
The
Interference Filter
will remove noise and false echoes from other echo sounders
and sonars in the vicinity of your own vessel. When in use, the filter strength is
controlled with the
Interference Filter Level
setting.
The
Interference Filter Level
allows you to specify the strength of the interference
filter. When the interference filter is used, you can adjust the strength to suit your
preferences and the current conditions. The default setting of the interference filter is
On
with a level set to
9
.
AGC (Automatic Gain Control)
The
AGC
(Automatic Gain Control) function runs an automatic analysis of the echo
strength. The AGC analysis will maintain a proper dynamic range based on all the
current echo values. This is done by automatically reducing the gain if you have
reverberation and noise, or increasing the gain if the acoustical conditions permit it.
Under difficult conditions, this function will improve the reception. During normal
operation,
Off
is the recommended (and default) setting.
•
Off
The AGC is disabled.
•
Weak
Echoes below a threshold set by the mean value for each range is suppressed.
•
Medium
The threshold value is increased by 3 dB compared to Weak.
•
Strong
The threshold value is increased by 3 dB compared to Medium.
