DO NOT INSTALL ANY SIMPLEX PRODUCT THAT APPEARS
DAMAGED.  Upon unpacking your Simplex product, inspect the contents of the
carton for shipping damage.  If damage is apparent, immediately file a claim
with the carrier and notify Simplex.

ELECTRICAL HAZARD - Disconnect electrical power when making any
internal adjustments or repairs.  Servicing should be performed by qualified
Simplex Representatives.

A 155-010 Ferrite Bead (procured separately) must be added to each RS-232
twisted-pair to reduce radiated emissions.  The following procedure describes
the installation of this ferrite bead.

Note:

To accomplish the following steps, you must first remove power from
the system and open the Master Controller display door.

Use Steps 1 through 4 to install the ferrite beads.

1.

Loop the RS-232 twisted-pair wires including the shield (or drain) wire
through a 155-010 Ferrite Bead close to the back box knockout.  (See
Figure 1, Detail A.)

2.

Attach the shield wire in the following manner.

Master System:

Attach the shield wire to the Ground Bar, as shown in

Figure 1.

Slave System:

Attach the shield wire to the AC Ground Network (Simplex

Kit No. 742-122) with a wirenut.  Then attach the AC Ground Network to
the Ground Bar.

3.

Repeat this procedure for each RS-232 twisted pair.  When more than two
panels are involved, the Slave System (Panel Two) becomes the Master
System for the Panel Three.  (See Figure 2.)
