Locking and Unlocking the Keypad
When the keypad is not in use it can be locked to prevent accidental keypad operation.
This is known as the Keypad Lock facility.
If the keypad is ‘Locked’, all the keys can be locked (the FPP can set certain keys to
remain unlocked ) only the Unlock function are available.
When the keypad is locked, the radio displays a key icon and a message with how to
unlock the keypad.
To unlock the keypad, either of the following methods can be used:
1. By key combination.
Press the Menu/OK key followed by the ‘*’ key within 2 seconds. When the
Menu/OK key is pressed the radio will display ‘Press star (*) to unlock’. After the
star key is pressed, the original Menu label will be redisplayed and a message on
screen saying ‘Keypad unlocked’.
2. By using the function key.
The FPP has a ‘Lock/Unlock’ enable function that can be assigned to a function
button. If this has been assigned, pressing the relevant function button will
unlock the keypad.
