5.1 Facility Connection
Once all the offline testing and service configuration of the product has been completed, the
system must be connected to the customer’s infrastructure.
5.1.1
External Management Network Connection
The EXT-MGT port allows the customer to connect to the VTL application processor(s) via a
remote network connection.
1. Locate the Ethernet cable(s) installed by the customer and run the cable up through the rear
left side hole in the cabinet bottom.
•
If the customer is dropping cables down from the ceiling, drop the Ethernet connection
cable through the hole in the top rear left side of the cabinet.
2. Connect the cable to the
EXT-MGT
port on the I/O bulkhead.
3. Dress and tie-wrap the cable in place, as necessary.
